MISSION FACILITATES ISSUANCE OF MUNICIPAL ID CARDS TO GHANAIAN NATIONALS IN MISRATA

19 Mar, 2022 by mission News

Over One Hundred (100) Ghanaian nationals in Misrata on 25th February, 2022, received their official ID cards issued by the Misrata Municipal Authority. Holders of card are recognized as duly registered foreign nationals living in the Municipality and will enhance their movements and work in the area. This milestone follows the Mission’s arrangements with the Misrata Municipal Authority for the latter to issue identification documents to our nationals who presents the ID card obtainrd from the Embassy. This arrangements has made it possible for the first batch of 100 Ghanaians to obtain a form of identification as a foreign worker, while other batches are under processing. This is part of the Mission’s bigger goal of ensuring that all Ghanaian nationals living and working in Libya ate duly documented. The Mission anticipates that this arrangement will begin the process of legalization of the statuses of our nationals. The Mission has replicated same efforts in Benghazi, while negotiations are underway with other Municipal authorities. We would like to use this opportunity to urge all Ghana in nationals in the country to apply for the Embassy ID card which forms the basis of the cards being issued by the Municipal authorities.
